Working with other neighborhood organizations, HLC’s community health workers advocated for neighborhood safety and community involvement at National Night Out on August 4th at Water Works Park. Community members were given the opportunity to suggest neighborhood improvements (and even the children made suggestions) – like improving paths for walking and biking, sprucing up the skate park, planting more trees and updating the restrooms. As one of the CHWs commented, “Real change begins with things like this!”
