In response to recent law enforcement shootings, the Education Community Health Advocates (ECHAs) at McLoughlin Middle School are working to address student and community concerns about how to support our youth of color around engagement with local law enforcement agencies.
Collaborating with McLoughlin Middle School students, ECHAs and HLC staff have convened local law enforcement and partners including YWCA, Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Association, LULAC and NAACP, to develop “Knowing is Power,” a student-led Q&A with local law enforcement and civil rights experts.
Tyler Monk will facilitate the event. Goals include taking a proactive approach to addressing the concerns and fears of communities of color and building trust and partnerships
When: Friday, June 14th, 4:30pm-6:00pm
