On February 28th, members of the HLC team, Rose Village Community Health Worker Team, HLC policy committee and other stakeholders traveled to Olympia to meet with our local legislators.
The legislative lunch was an opportunity to highlight community priorities including increased funding for affordable housing and essential needs, school-based health centers and Medicaid reimbursement rates.
Four legislators (Rep. Stonier, Rep. Harris, Rep. Wylie, Rep. Peterson) and a leader from the Governor’s office joined the luncheon.
Among the highlights was a student leader from Vancouver Public Schools, who advocated on mental health support needs at the school. Additionally, we met with Senator Frockt’s team about budget requests for the priorities above.
