On Tuesday the 6th, The Rose Village CHW team teamed up with the Rose Village neighborhood association and the Police Activity League (PAL) to host the neighborhood’s annual night out celebration. This year’s event was one of their biggest to date, with a great turnout and participation from local law enforcement, the fire department, businesses and of course, the community!

The Rose Village team took to the grill and served up tasty BBQ chicken. Community members brought their own contributions for the potluck. Yum! CHWs also engaged their neighbors with their signature hula hoops, which double as a healthy and fun activity and an ice breaker that helps them connect with more community members who might benefit from CHW support.

There were also free haircuts for local youth! The haircuts were generously donated and provided by Public Celebrities Professional Barbering Services!

The fire department provided a training to help community members be better prepared for emergency situations. They also brought a fire engine, which was a hit with attendees of all ages. CHWs noted that young children and local teens alike engaged with the fire department, which helps build trust and relationships with first responders.

The local 7-11 store even came through with a contribution of snacks and water for all the attendees.
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported this year’s event, including our sponsor the PAL!
