on April 30, 2015, Clark County’s Board of Councilors passed an ordinance enacted by the Clark County Board of Health that prohibits the use of electronic vapor devices in any place where smoking is prohibited – with the exception of businesses where vapor devices are sold. This is a BIG WIN for the Healthy Living Collaborative in its mission to support health in all policies and services. Thank you to the members of the HLC work group who helped to educate the public including the ESD for hosting the training. Thank you also to all of the partners who had a significant role in this win for which many provided public testimony including Kaiser Permanente, Council For the Homeless, Prevent!, Prevention Alliance and SeaMar. A special thank you to Prevention Alliance for asking Dr. Garrard from Poison Control to come and provide public testimony and also to Bryce Hackett, a youth from Columbia High School who testified to congress and again at the county hearing. A fantastic job was done by Clark County Public Health in their leadership to move this work forward!
